Use 'em or lose 'em from Elaine Adair Pieces

 


I've had this collection of small mola patches for years, then misplaced them, and voila, recently found them.  Decided to make them up into little pouches before they get misplaced again.  They are very primitive on the backs, but the quality/skill of the fronts is most impressive.  They are all made by reverse applique, far better than I can manage, and are probably from Panama or Columbia - wish I had a few more.  The colors are far prettier in person.  I added jewelry charms to each zipper pull.  

The polka dot journal cover needs a few more practice ...

Zipper Pouches Made From Clothing Patchwork Leftovers from Quilts + Color

 

These zipper pouches were all made from the neck cutouts from my No Sweat Checkerboard Shirt pattern.


These were made from the cutouts of various clothing pieces.

These are the last zipper pouches I made from clothing leftovers.

Zipper Pouches Made From Sewing Machine Embroidery Samples from Quilts + Color

 This is not programmed machine embroidery. It is from a class I taught many years ago where you move the fabric back and forth to create a design.

There are a total of 3 different groups in this blog post.

This is the first of  the 3 groups of embroidered pouches and a couple other designs.

More embroidered pouches. The blue and white one is made from just zippers.


The final group of embroidered pouches along with some other unique creations.

How I Get Myself Ready To Work On Quilts, Bigger Projects from Quilts + Color

 

I use leftover pieces from previous projects to make zipper pouches.

They are easy to do and I enjoy giving them to others.


I had this small fragment of cross stitch and lots of very small scraps

I enjoyed creating this crazy quilt zipper pouch.

Feather Pouches from Quilts + Color


I made these 3 zipper pouches from the pieces left from a jacket I made years ago. The fabric was already quilted. 
Making things like this is always a great way to get back into quilting and sewing when I have been away from it for a while.

Still More Zipper Pouches from Quilts + Color



These were made from Fairfield Cotton Classic batting I painted. I layered organza over the batting  and quilted the sandwich with metallic thread.
I made a vest from the fabric and these were done with what was left.

Zipper Pouches From Shirt Cutouts from Quilts + Color



I made these pouches from several neck cutouts from my No Sweat Checkerboard Shirt pattern I designed.

I adapted my pattern to make an ensemble for the Fairfield Fashion show. These are the cutouts from those garments.
